Vecchia Romagna originated in 1820, when the Buton family moved from France to Italy. They opened a distillery in Bologna and after much experimentation, the legendary brandy Vecchia Romagna was born. The original triangular bottle is still one of the unique characteristics of the brandy. Worldwide, the brandy is recognized, drunk, and enjoyed. In 1999, Gruppo Montenegro took the brand under its wing.
