Ardbeg Uigeadail (oog-a-dal) is a special blend where the distillery manager mixes various Ardbeg malts of different ages and maturations. The used malts are partly matured in American oak bourbon casks and partly in Oloroso sherry casks, thus bringing together Ardbeg's traditional deep smoky tones with sensual, raisin-sweet aromas. The brilliantly layered whisky is named after Loch Uigeadail, the lake on Islay from which Ardbeg draws its water. Uigeadail is Gaelic for 'dark and mysterious'. Ardbeg Uigeadail is the favorite expression of the more than 120,000 members of the Ardbeg Committee.
