In the Scottish Highlands, in the middle of the prestigious Glenlivet area, lies the village of Tomintoul. Here in the heart of the Speyside region is the Tomintoul distillery located. During the last century, it took more than a year to find a water source that could be used to produce malt whisky. The search ended with the discovery of the Ballantruan Spring, a source with the purest water. The distillery was built near this spring. The natural environment, the high location, the pure air, and the high water quality contribute to the soft character of Tomintoul. The whisky is characterized by an elegant, fruity, and light taste with a soft undertone of wood and spices.
