Chateau Marquis de Goulaine is the only major chateau in the Loire Valley that still produces its own wines. The range is diverse, where this Merlot might be a bit of an odd one out. The winery sources the grapes for this wine from the Pays d'Oc and processes them on its own estate. The Merlot offers many fruity flavors of blackberries and red berries, is easily digestible, and has a wonderfully juicy character. Drink the wine with pasta dishes with red sauce or with starters with beef, such as carpaccio.
