The Marinus has been an iconic wine from California for years, as it is a superb blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The grapes come from the Carmel Valley area. The grapes are hand-harvested and the wine ages for a period of 24 to 30 months in new French oak. A beautiful, refined, thick, ripe wine is the result. The aroma of the wine has a wonderful bouquet of ripe black fruit such as blackberries, berries, and cherries complemented by an impressive palette of cedarwood, spices, vanilla, tobacco, and chocolate. The elegant taste is powerful with impressions of black fruit, spices such as pepper and bay leaf complemented by vanilla, cedarwood, leather, tobacco, and cocoa.
