
Homemade advocaat
The ingredients are for 1 glass (approximately 250 ml) advocaat.Ingredients
100gEgg yolks
0.5units.itemsVanilla pod
pinch of salt
125gBrandy
100gGranulated sugar
Preparation
- Scrape out half a vanilla pod and put the pod together with the seeds in a large bowl.
- Add the egg yolks, granulated sugar, salt, and brandy and mix everything well with a whisk.
- Bring a layer of water to a boil in a pan and gently heat the advocaat au bain-marie. Make sure the water in the pan does not touch the bowl and that the advocaat does not exceed 62°C.
- When the advocaat reaches 62°C, place the bowl in a container with ice cubes and continue whisking gently until it reaches room temperature.
- Strain the advocaat until smooth
