The white mushroom is the most consumed mushroom in the Netherlands and is grown all year round. They are hand-picked and immediately placed in the packaging. This way, the mushroom retains its white color. Due to its neutral aroma, the mushroom can be well combined with fish, meat, poultry, and most types of vegetables.
The white mushroom has a uniform, white round cap and white stem. The mushrooms should be used as fresh as possible. The mushroom is best preserved at a temperature between 4°C and 7°C. In this way, a shelf life of at least three days can be achieved. Do not clean the mushrooms with water, but with a brush or cloth. This way, the mushroom does not soak up water. You can fry, roast, stew, and deep-fry mushrooms, among other things. Fried mushrooms, for example, fit excellently in a salad or a pasta dish.
