Cod lives close to the sea floor at depths of 20 to 600 meters. The fish has an average length of 80 to 90 centimeters and can live up to 25 years. The flesh has a beautiful bright white color, contains few bones, and has a loose structure with large flakes. Cod feeds on crayfish, shrimp, fish, and mussels, and you can taste that in the fish meat. Cod is delicate in flavor and endlessly versatile. Delicious for baking, grilling, smoking, frying, steaming, drying, and salting.
