This Vannamei shrimp is also known as whiteleg shrimp. The animal is now widely farmed in, among others, Asia and South America. Many farmers have switched from black tiger to vannamei because they grow faster and can have more volume in a pond. The shrimp has a firm texture and a mild flavor. These raw shrimps are headless, tailless, peeled, and deveined, and contain 31 - 40 pieces in an English pound (454 grams).
