Amid the patchwork of Wynns vineyards on the famous terra rossa strip lies a special area: V&A Lane. This long, straight road was surveyed in 1851 and once marked the boundary between the historic electoral districts of Victoria and Albert. The ripe Shiraz vineyards along V&A Lane ripen early and are among the first to be harvested each season.
The resulting wines have a modern appeal: fresh and spicy, while retaining the juicy and silky structure that makes Shiraz worthy of global recognition.
The aim of V&A Lane Shiraz is to showcase a contrasting wine style from one of our most beloved grape varieties. Techniques such as deliberately early harvesting to emphasize fresh red fruit character, naturally lower alcohol content, whole bunch fermentation, wild yeasts, and the use of larger barrels for maturation are applied to create these beautiful, food-friendly wines.
Tasting notes: Aromas of fresh red fruit and spice on the nose. The palate is juicy and silky, with vibrant acidity and subtle spice. The finish is elegant and food-friendly.
