The Argentine shrimp is a wild cold-water shrimp caught off the coast of Argentina. In appearance, it resembles the more well-known black tiger shrimp, only the Argentine shrimp is already red/orange in color before cooking. The Argentine shrimp has a fine texture with a slightly sweet intense flavor that leans towards langoustine. With these headless shrimp, the back is incised so they are easy to peel after preparation. These shrimp come in 16 - 20 pieces per English pound (454 grams).
