For baking a traditional lotus flower, use the Thai lotus flower tong (62176530).Ingredients
55gWheat flour
100gRice flour
180glime juice
glotus flower tong
110gWater
17gEgg yolk
4.5gSalt
10gSunflower oil
50gSugar
40gwhite & black sesame seeds
100gtapioca starch
Preparation
- Sift the rice flour, flour, and tapioca.
- Mix this with lime juice.
- Add the egg yolk, sunflower oil, salt, and sugar and mix well.
- Mix in the sesame seeds.
- Heat the tongs in hot oil, dip in the batter, and fry in the oil until the 'flower' releases from the tongs.
- Let it brown in the oil.
- Remove the flower from the oil and place it directly over a 'round' mold so the flower shape forms.
