Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier is considered the worldwide benchmark for any wheat beer. No flavorings such as coriander or lemon peel are used. The fresh acidity is produced by the characteristic, proprietary yeast. The beer is exceptionally easy to drink. This is an unfiltered beer; the yeast is still present (hence the addition of 'hefe'). When poured, this beer is beautifully cloudy. The aroma and flavor are dominated by fruity notes, with banana and apricot taking the lead.
