A dark and complex Trappist beer. Delightful aromas rise from beneath a small head of foam. The beer is sweet on one hand but has a strong bite and pleasant bitterness. Partly due to the use of honey from the abbey’s own garden, this beer has a very distinctive flavor. The new “Trappist beer” from Stift Engelszell in Austria is now also available in the Netherlands. Gregorius Trappist beer is a dark Trappist beer with an alcohol content of 9.7%. The beer is named after Dom Gregorius Eisvogel, who led the Stift Engelszell abbey for 25 years.
