Mr. Lee Kum Sheung is the inventor of oyster sauce, which originated when he accidentally boiled down his oyster soup into a thick sauce in 1888. Now, 132 years later, his company Lee Kum Kee continues Mr. Lee's old tradition with authentic Chinese sauces and famous flavorings. Hoisin sauce is a concentrated sauce based on soybeans with a large number of spices, sesame, and chili peppers.
