This poultry of the Poulet Jaune breed carries the 'Label Rouge' quality mark. To be allowed to carry this quality mark, rustic breeds are selected for the quality of their meat and their slow growth. The Label Rouge chickens are kept in small, light barns without artificial light. The feed is 100% plant-based and consists of at least 75% grains and grain products during the fattening period. The Label Rouge chickens are slaughtered at an age between 81 and 110 days. They have a ready-to-cook weight of 1.2 to 1.7 kilos.
