Pied de Mouton is also known as the yellow hedgehog mushroom or sheep's foot. The mushroom owes its name to the small soft spines located under the cap. Pied de Mouton has a fleshy, slightly convex cap. The color of the cap is beige to light brown. The stem is quite thick and cream-white in color. It is a tasty mushroom and can be prepared in the same way as chanterelles. The yellow hedgehog mushroom has a light scent and a peppery taste.
