Raki is a beautiful drink, originally from the Anatolian peninsula, made by distilling alcohol obtained by fermenting grapes, together with aniseed. Raki is never served alone, but with mezze, friends, and family. It is not a drink to be consumed quickly, but one to take time for. Relax, enjoy, in other words: unwind. For the traditional serving, first pour 6 cl of raki into a raki glass, then add 6 cl of water and top up with ice cubes. Cold or with ice is key!
Tekirdağ Rakısı Gold Series is obtained by distilling the suma (the product after the first distillation) in copper alembics. After this, it is aged in the finest wooden barrels, giving the raki its golden color and unique flavor. Aromas of aniseed, dried citrus fruits, and hazelnuts dominate at first. Then soft and oily with notes of pepper and sage tea. A very smooth and balanced finish. Pairs particularly well with warm dishes such as roasted eggplant or steamed sardines.
