In the village of Rothes located in Speyside, the Glenrothes distillery has been producing a remarkable single malt whisky with care and in silence since 1879. Today, the whiskies are still made in exactly the same way as years ago; water is drawn from five local water sources and used throughout the production as part of the maturation process. This deliberately slow process shapes the unique style and characteristic of the drink. With the maturation of the whisky in oak sherry casks from the Jerez region in southern Spain, also a special feature of the Glenrothes single malt whisky, the process is completed.
