This Balvenie has had a finish in a rum cask from the Caribbean. For years, malt master David Steward has been experimenting with fourteen-year-old Balvenie. The casks used for this variant are specially seasoned with a blend of various types of rum from the Caribbean, to create the consistency expected from a whisky like this. This fantastic whisky takes you on a journey through a broad flavor palette, with exotic fruit, ripe banana, and lime peel on the nose. Holding a small sip in the mouth a little longer ensures that the spicy notes are tamed and slowly disappear under the tongue, then release a fountain of aromas.
