Cachaça 51 a distillate from the pure juice of sugarcane. In Brazil, it is the national drink and therefore also the most consumed spirit. Worldwide, Cachaça is the fourth most consumed distilled drink after vodka, rum, and soju. Cachaça is also compared to rum. But the important difference is that for rum a distillate of the molasses of sugarcane (a byproduct) is used, while for Cachaça the pure juice of sugarcane is distilled. It is produced in the same way as rum but has a more powerful flavor. With over 175 million liters per year, Cachaça 51 is one of the largest spirits brands in the world. Cachaça 51 is the number 1 Cachaça worldwide; the basis for the well-known cocktail Caipirinha.
