Domaine Le Mourre takes its name from the Provençal “Lou Mourre”, which means small hill. The vineyard on this cape has been cultivated for generations by the family owners of the estate. This “Mourre” also contains traces of the first farmers of the Vaucluse from the Neolithic period (5000 BC). Quartzite stones (a symbol of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape soil) were discovered here, as well as elements of a sickle and millstone, signs of early agricultural activity. The vineyard benefits from an ideal southern exposure for the ripening of the grapes, which gives the wine roundness, elegance, and aromatic complexity.
