Godello is one of the most important white varieties in the northwest of Spain. This indigenous white grape in Galicia, Valdeorras, and Bierzo, believed to originate around the 12th century, is also grown in Portugal. After fermentation, the juices are usually very aromatic with a fairly high acidity. Wines produced with Godello are delicate, elegant, and fresh with a slightly sweet mouthfeel and they have a tremendous aging capacity, both in barrels and in the bottle. Elegant aromas of ripe fruit with spicy hints, floral notes, and something earthy. A delicate and charming wine to enjoy!
