Bernardus makes dreams come true. Almost by chance, former Dutch racing driver Ben Pon (1936-2019) acquired a piece of land on the Californian slopes behind Carmel Valley Village in 1989. Here he started his Bernardus Winery with the goal of producing red wines that rival the greatest Bordeaux and Grand Crus. The color is light golden yellow. On the nose, aromas of peach and lychee, accented by caramel and toasted oak tones. The taste is very rich and concentrated with lively tropical fruit and citrus flavors with a pleasant acidity. A lush and robust wine with a beautifully long finish. A good combination with poultry, white meat, pasta, grilled fish, and fish dishes.
