Originating from various vineyards in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a low-yield vineyard with soil mainly of granite and gravel. The soil for the Merlot grapes consists of clay and is well-drained. Some sections are very rich in iron. Cabernet Franc comes from very well-drained, stony soil with about 20% clay. Petit Verdot grows on so-called Oakleaf soils. Concentrated wine with lots of dark fruit (pastille and mulberries), pure chocolate, held together by smooth tannins. Delicious with beef rib steak. Also nice with a stew of lamb or beef.
