Quail eggs (oeufs de caille) have a high mineral and protein content. These eggs are smaller and softer compared to regular chicken eggs. The shell is slightly harder and speckled. Quail eggs can be boiled and fried and are also extremely suitable for garnishing. The cooking time of quail eggs is shorter than that of chicken eggs because a quail egg is much smaller. A chicken egg weighs about 50 grams and a quail egg only 9 grams.
