Piadina
Traditional Italian dough made with, among other things, wholemeal flour.We serve them with burrata, arugula, and Parma ham.
Tip: The dough can be prepared in advance and will keep for up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
Ingredients
500gLukewarm water
100gOlive oil or lard
0.8gBaking soda
20gSalt
1000gWhole wheat flour
Preparation
- Mix the flour, salt, and baking soda.
- Add the warm water and oil.
- Knead for about 10 minutes (in the stand mixer).
- Let it rest for about 25 minutes.
- Portion to the desired size (we make about 12 balls in this recipe).
- Roll out the balls with some flour and prick holes in them.
- Bake them in a non-stick pan until the desired color is achieved.
- Serve with toppings of your choice.
