Rye bread with small uitsmijter

Rye bread with smoked bacon and quail egg is a delicious combination! The robust flavor of the rye bread pairs perfectly with the salty smoked bacon, and the quail egg completes the dish.

Ingredients

8units.itemsGourmet party roll whole wheat
8units.itemsQuail eggs
4units.itemsSlices of smoked bacon
Unsalted butter
Sprig of chervil

Preparation

  1. Spread the rye bread slices with a little butter.
    Tip: as an alternative, use Gourmet black whole wheat rye bread slices (28104200).

  2. Cut the cured bacon into very fine strips and cover the rye bread slices with them.

  3. Fry 8 nice quail egg sunny-side-ups, and if desired, cut them to the desired size.

  4. Place the quail eggs on the bacon and garnish with some chervil (or parsley).
