Glazed beets.Ingredients
2ruby port
red beets (peeled and sliced)
3Water
1Garam masala
1merlot wine vinegar
Preparation
- Mix all ingredients (except the beets) and reduce by half.
- Cook the peeled and sliced beets in this until tender.
- Strain the cooking liquid and reduce it to a syrupy consistency.
- Glaze the beets in this with a little butter when serving.
- Tip: using white beets? Then use white port and chardonnay vinegar.
