Onions in basil

Crispy deep-fried onion rings in basil batter.

Ingredients

Tempura flour
large onions
Milk
1bunch of basil
carbonated water

Preparation

  1. Peel the onions and slice into rings. Gently cook in milk until just tender, then pat very dry.
  2. Put the tempura mix and basil leaves in the food processor. Turn on the machine and, while running, pour in cold sparkling water until a nice batter forms. Dip the onions in the batter, fry, season with salt, and serve.
