
Valentine's grissini
A 'Valentine's' grissini made with beetroot juice.Ingredients
15gDry yeast (or 5 g fresh yeast)
50mlWater
500gFlour
10gSalt
230mlBeetroot juice
1Yakso agave syrup
50mlOlive oil
Preparation
- Dissolve the yeast in the water.
- Put the flour in a KitchenAid with the paddle attachment and turn the machine on.
- Add salt and the water with the dissolved yeast.
- Then add the beet juice, agave syrup, and olive oil.
- Mix until a nice dough forms.
- Knead the dough by hand and let it rest for 1 hour under plastic wrap at room temperature.
- After resting, cut the dough into strips and roll them into grissini. (Tip: optionally roll the grissini through fine cornmeal.)
- Bake the grissini for about 15 minutes at 190°C in the oven.
- Serve the grissini with a soup or use them creatively as an appetizer!
