Jamón de Teruel is the oldest D.O.P. ham from the white pig in Spain. The ham is made exclusively from pigs from the region, often a cross between the white landrace pig and a Duroc pig. Only the best hams receive the hallmark of the eight-pointed star with the word 'Teruel' and a band with a serial number. Teruel hams are dried for a minimum of 14 months, at HANOS you will only find hams that have been dried for at least 20 months. The color of the meat is glossy red with infiltrated fat threads. The taste is delicate and lightly salty, the fat is creamy and has a pleasant aroma.
