A bright green Conference pear is not yet fully ripe and tastes fresh and crunchy. The Conference pear is ripe when it is light yellow in color. The taste is then sweet, the flesh light orange, and the texture is juicy and 'melting' in the mouth. Due to the firm skin, the pear is a suitable snack or as an ingredient in a fresh fruit salad. The Conference is also excellent for processing into a compote, juice, syrup, or jam. These Conference pears come from the Netherlands and have a size of 65 to 70 millimeters.
