Griet is a flatfish and belongs to the family of turbot-like fish. It is found in the (northeast) of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Mediterranean Sea, can grow up to 75 centimeters long and weigh 8 kilos. The fish has a smooth skin and a white fillet with a soft, fine texture. The fillet is excellent for baking, grilling, and stewing. A perfect broth can be made from the bones.
