Vacherin Mont d’Or is a delicious cheese from the Jura. It is a cheese with a washed rind and is made exclusively from raw cow's milk. After the rennet is added, the cheese is placed in the curd molds. Then, to prevent it from running out, the cheese is transferred into spruce wood hoops. During the ripening period of at least three weeks, the cheeses are washed and turned every day. This results in a delicious cheese mass with a slightly sweet taste that is wonderfully creamy. Perfect to serve warm and to 'spoon' with, for example, pieces of bread and cornichons.
