The 15 Year Old gets its distinctive rich and exotic character through a process of selective maturation, where part of the spirit is matured in French oak casks. The Limousin oak used is harvested in the Dordogne region of France, where it is often used to mature cognacs. Due to the low density, whisky can sink deep into the wood, and it is carefully controlled how long the whisky matures in the casks to not overpower the desired result: a unique, pleasant spiciness. Deep, intense gold with sweet fruit and delicate spices. Creamy, rich, and buttery.
