Comtesse de Bessière, inspired by the village of Bessière in the foothills of the Massif Central, is a barrel-aged Chardonnay. 60% was fermented and aged in tanks with staves, and 40% in new oak barrels.
Tasting notes: golden color. Expressive nose with pear, peach, and grapefruit, combined with toasted notes and vanilla from the oak aging. The palate is full and round, yet fresh, with a long finish where the oak comes forward.
Serving suggestions: fish in sauce, grilled white meat, or a cheese platter.
