A document from 1390 mentions the early vineyard holdings in the "Marckinborn," making it one of the oldest monastic vineyards. In 1726, the site was considered synonymous with the best Rheingau wines. The name is derived from the neoclassical fountain located on the border between Hattenheim and Erbach. The site faces south and has a slope of up to 25%. The clay-rich marl soils are deep and calcareous. The VDP GG Marcobrunn is characterized by elegant stone fruit. Peach stands out, but aromas of yellow pear and quince also fill the palate. Powerful with fine fruit and a fresh acidity that gives the wine a certain lightness. The Riesling finishes with a very long-lasting minerality.
