Made from Mencia grapes, aged 8 to 18 months in oak barrels. Spicy yet fresh, elegant vermouth that is extremely suitable for aperitifs or cocktails.
The Bierzo wine region is located in the northwest of Spain, along the eastern border of Galicia. The region is currently considered, like Rueda, Jumilla, and Toro, as a promising 'new' wine area. The strong point of Bierzo is the red Mencía grape. More than two-thirds of the vineyards are planted with this variety, which is somewhat comparable to the Cabernet Franc from the French Loire. However, Bierzo has more sun, allowing the Mencía to easily reach full ripeness here.
