Cinnamon waffle with apple, raisins and vanilla ice cream

Cinnamon waffle with stewed apple, raisins in spiced brandy, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream: a warm, sweet and nostalgic dessert.

Warm spices not only add flavor and aroma to your creations, but also provide depth. You could call them the heart of the kitchen. In the winter months, and especially in December, we seek warmth in our dishes and reach for our spice drawer, and they return in our recipes.

Ingredients

500gFlour
1Salt
2Eggs (M)
2Cinnamon powder
250gMelted butter
400gWhite caster sugar

Butter
Goudreinet apples
Cinnamon sugar

Cinnamon stick
Star anise
Brandy
yellow raisins

Whipped cream
Vanilla ice cream
Cinnamon sugar

Preparation

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon powder.
  2. Add the melted butter and mix well.
  3. Then beat in the eggs.
  4. Add a little water until a thick pancake batter forms.
  5. Bake the batter in a waffle iron (Available at HANOS SHOP) until you have a cone-shaped waffle.
  6. Store these waffles in a well-sealed container to keep them crispy.

  1. Peel the apples and cut into cubes.
  2. Mix the apples with some cinnamon sugar.
  3. Briefly sauté the apples in butter until they are lightly caramelized.

  1. Heat the brandy with the cinnamon stick and star anise to about 60°C.
  2. Add the raisins and let them soak until the brandy has completely cooled.

  1. Serve the waffle with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, the warm stewed apple cubes, whipped cream, and dust with a little extra cinnamon sugar.
