Mozzarella disguised as tomato

Buffalo mozzarella wrapped in a tomato jelly. A little gift on the table!

Ingredients

Cream cheese
Basil
Buffalo mozzarella
focaccia bread
1ltomato-vegetable juice
8gKappa

Preparation

  1. Take fresh buffalo mozzarella and put it together with an equal amount of light cream cheese in the food processor.
  2. Blend the mixture into a cream.
  3. Season with finely chopped basil.
  4. Spoon the cream onto a piece of cling film and twist the ends of the plastic tightly so that a tomato shape is formed.
  5. Freeze this thoroughly.
  6. Take 1 liter of tomato-vegetable juice and mix in 8 grams of kappa, then heat to boiling point.
  7. Remove the mozzarella from the plastic, skewer it on a satay stick, and dip it 1 or 2 times in the warm tomato jelly.
  8. Let the whole thing thaw.
  9. Place a tomato crown on top and serve as a spreadable tomato with focaccia bread.
