
Fried calamari
These fried calamari rings are easy to make and a party on every raki table.Ingredients
500gfresh squid
4Baking powder
1Sea salt
0.5Sugar
100mlWater
0.5Lemon
Flour
Preparation
- Cut the squid into rings of 1-2 cm and place them in a large deep plate.
- Add baking powder, sea salt, and sugar.
- Squeeze the rings well with your hands to marinate them and also to remove the rubbery texture.
- Then add the water and the juice of half a lemon.
- Continue squeezing the squid rings and wrap them in aluminum foil.
- Preferably let the rings marinate in the refrigerator overnight (or at least 2 hours).
- Put enough sunflower oil in a large pan or deep fryer and heat it over medium heat.
- Put the flour in a bowl, along with salt to taste.
- Coat the squid rings in the flour mixture, gently shake off excess flour, and then place them in the pan with oil.
- Fry them for about 1 minute until lightly golden brown.
- Serve with lemon wedges.
