Gua bao with vanilla ice cream

A sweet treat with a bao bun, strawberries, and ice cream.

Inspired by the 'brioche con gelato' from Sicily, 'ice on the bun' is the trend for this summer.

Ingredients

gua bao
Mix for pastry cream
Strawberries
Monin orange spritz syrup
Aperol Spritz
vanilla ice cream
Yogurt crunch
powdered sugar or decorative snow

Preparation

Step 1

  1. Steam the gua bao for two to three minutes (in a steamer basket) or heat the gua bao in the microwave, thawed for 30 seconds or frozen for 60 seconds.
  2. Fry the gua bao in oil in the deep fryer at 175°C until they are light brown.
